1) What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember you and your preferences. Related technologies (collectively “cookies”) include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, SDKs, and similar trackers.
2) Who sets them?
First-party cookies are set by me.
Third-party cookies are set by others (e.g., analytics or advertising partners) to provide features or measure performance on my Site.
3) How I classify cookies
I group cookies into the following categories:
Strictly necessary – Required for the Site to function (e.g., page navigation, security). These do not require consent under UK/EU rules but I will tell you about them.
Performance/Analytics – Help me understand how the Site is used (e.g., pages visited, time on page) so I can improve it.
Functional – Remember choices (e.g., language, region) and provide enhanced features.
Advertising/Targeting – Used to deliver ads more relevant to you and measure ad campaign performance.
Social media – Enable sharing or login via social platforms and may track activity across sites.
Except for strictly necessary cookies, I only use cookies with your consent (UK GDPR/PECR, EU GDPR/ePrivacy). You can withdraw consent anytime via Cookie Settings (see Section 8).
4) Legal bases (UK/EU)

6) Do I use pixels and local storage?
Yes. Pixels (e.g., Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok) help measure conversions and audience reach. Local/session storage can remember settings (e.g., form progress). I treat these the same as cookies for consent purposes.
7) International data transfers
Some partners process data outside the UK/EU (e.g., in the US). Where this occurs, I rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and UK addenda, and where available, adequacy decisions. See my Privacy Policy for details.
8) Managing your cookies (consent choices)
Cookie banner / preference center: Click “Cookie Settings” (link or button in footer) to change or withdraw consent at any time.
Browser controls: You can block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may impact Site functionality.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): If your browser sends a GPC signal, I treat it as an opt-out of sale/sharing for US visitors where applicable (see Section 10).
9) Retention
Cookies last for the durations listed above (or as shown in your browser). Analytics data is typically retained in aggregated form and deleted or anonymised per vendor policy. I review retention periodically and only keep data as long as necessary for the stated purposes.
10) Region-specific information
A) United Kingdom & European Economic Area:
I comply with UK GDPR/PECR and EU GDPR/ePrivacy. Non-essential cookies are set only with your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time via Cookie Settings.
B. United States (California and similar state laws):
For California residents, certain tracking may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under the CCPA/CPRA.
You can opt out via Cookie Settings and (where offered) my “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer.
I honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of sale/sharing where legally required.
C. Canada, Australia and other regions:
I apply consent or opt-out mechanisms in line with local laws (e.g., PIPEDA, Australian Privacy Act). If you are in a jurisdiction with stricter rules, I will follow those stricter rules.
11) Children
My Site is not intended for children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region). I do not knowingly place non-essential cookies on children’s devices.
12) Updates to this Policy
I may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to my cookies, technologies, or legal requirements. Changes take effect when posted with the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may be highlighted via the banner or on this page.
